Social & Educational Programs
Each month we host an interesting range of speakers, lessons, luncheons and social programs.
You might learn about how to give CPR or arrange flowers. How to self-publish your memoirs or the genius of Da Vinci. What Uber and Lyft could do for you, or one expert’s solution to our nation’s health care woes.
Some of our regular ongoing programs include:
COA Pizza Buffet Café: Join us for lunch on the first Wednesday of every month for conversation and camaraderie, and a chance to satisfy your pizza cravings. Lunch includes a wide variety of pizzas, salad, dessert and beverage. (Gluten-free and cheese-free pizzas are available upon request with your reservation.)
The cost is $3, made possible by a generous grant from the Friends of the Wayland Council on Aging. Call us at 508-358-2990 to make a reservation.
Great Courses DVD Lecture Series: On most Mondays at 1:00 p.m. the COA presents a video lecture from the Great Courses series, featuring some the world’s experts on topics ranging from history to science to economics and politics. Check our newsletter for current offerings, and join us to expand your knowledge.
Drop-In Programs: Come any time for these social and educational programs:
COA Connections: Mondays, 2:30pm. A facilitated conversation group open to all.
Genealogy: 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 1:00pm. Share research tips and stories from the past.
Scrabble: Thursdays, 10am. Build words and friendships over the Scrabble board.
Friday After-Hours Movie Matinee: Twice each month on Fridays at 12:30 p.m. the COA shows first-run movies, served up with popcorn and beverages, free of charge.
